• Retention bonus for 6 months continuous service up to £500 for full time and £250 for part time workers. (Conditions apply) The Principal Responsibilities of a Care and Support Worker are:

• Supporting with personal care – such as bathing, toileting, dressing and other hygiene related tasks.

• Supporting clients with shopping – either on their behalf or with them.

• Meal preparation and cooking.

• Basic housekeeping

• Supporting with medication – prompting, assisting, or administering

• Support with daily routines

• Respite services

• Socialising and leisure activities

• Helping clients access the community A Care and Support Worker needs to be:

• Caring, kind & enthusiastic

• 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life for vulnerable people

• Willing to undertake Personal Care tasks

• Able to follow instructions and procedures

• Be comfortable working within either a team setting or lone working

• UK Driving Licence and own vehicle for work • Hold or be willing to undertake a DBS check

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Carer to join our team in the role of Senior Carer / Supervisor. The overall purpose of the role is to ensure the Choices Care provides a high-quality, person-centred service to all its users. Our aim is to enable customers to live independently with choice and control in their own home.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

·         To be an active member of the team, working in close collaboration with the Care Support Workers, Administrator and the Head of Care.

 

·         To participate in team meetings and the development of the Care Service.

 

·         To support with staff induction, training and the mentoring of new Care Support Workers.

 

·         To ensure that care is provided and health & safety guidelines are followed according to all relevant policies, procedures and regulations.

 

·         To provide personal care to customers in their own home as identified in the customer care plan.

 

·         To provide domestic assistance as identified in the customer care plan, which could include cleaning, food preparation, laundry, shopping, accompanying the customer in the community.

 

·         To transport customers to appointments and activities.

 

·         To assist with exercises and prescribed plans and follow any medical instructions which apply carefully and consistently.

 

·         To organise time and resources based on the individual needs of the customer.

 

·         To manage any unanticipated events or unstable situations

To keep accurate and up-to-date notes relating to tasks undertaken in a customer’s home
